Not such a great day so far... I really hate people.

http://www.randomidiot.com tells the story of this current crappiness.

It's baaaaaack! Oct. 7th, 2009 @ 07:32 pm
Well, yesterday I decided to try blogging again. So I logged in, set up wordpress, and actually have a use for my website again! Yay!

We'll see how long this lasts, although I'm hoping it'll be for a while!

http://www.randomidiot.com tho the name will almost definitely soon change to something a little more flattering. Ideas/suggestions?

Need job opinions... Sep. 29th, 2009 @ 09:21 am
Post: #1 Posted: Mon Sep 28, 2009 8:46 pm Post subject: Need job opinions

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK guys, I could use some opinions here. I currently work for a millwork company as a salesman. I hate it, I don't make a lot of money, no insurance, and I am unsure each day when I wake up if I'll have a job when I make it to work.

That said, I'm considering my other options. I want out of sales. I like computer work, am fairly good at it, and could probably do it for a career well enough to be happy and make decent cash at it. The kicker is I don't have any degrees or any "real" training aside from my own tinkering with computers in my spare time.

I was considering opening my own computer repair biz for some side work now, and trying to grow that into something full time. Thoughts?

I wouldn't need to make a large investment, I could do the work here in my bedroom, business cards are almost free from online sites (just pay shipping and whatnot) and basically would only need funds for a printer (print invoices... I can email quotes, but invoices will need to be paid upon delivery of the computer) and maybe some advertisements in the local papers or something.

Would you guys take a computer to someone working like this, or would you stay away because of no degrees and simply go to Best Buy or another computer repair facility?

Hello again Aug. 1st, 2009 @ 03:08 pm
I considered what I wanted to say here and decided to be brief. I won't promise to come back and blog here more often... because I've done that, and I can't stick with it. I won't go off on a wild tangent about how life has been... because I doubt you care. I won't... ah fuck it.

My sister is getting married today. Within an hour I'll be at the hotel all dressed up in my tux waiting on the limo to take us groomsmen to the ceremony. It's supposed to be an outdoor wedding, and while the temperature is awesome outside... it was raining a little while ago, so this may very well turn into an indoor wedding.

Oh well, should be a great time, I'll try to post pictures online within a day or two, and I may even stop back in here to show you guys too!

Anyways, I'm going to close this post here, since I doubt any of you friends will actually read it or remember who the hell I even am, so. Farewell for now, faithful livejournal!

Halloween fun! Nov. 2nd, 2008 @ 08:15 pm

» Hey you guys!
*blows off the dust*

Hey! I'd wondered where I'd placed this thing! How are you guys? I haven't stopped in too much since my last post, whenever the hell that was, but I've thought about most of you guys a good bit since we chatted last. I won't say any individual hellos here, but let's just say hello to everybody, and I hope you've all been well!

I'm gonna keep this one short and to the point, and try to come back soon with some more blurbs of worthlessness that I'm so (not) famous for...

I'm moving out. Finally. Leaving the parents house. My friend just bought a condo and needs some help with the mortgage, so I'm gonna pick up his extra room. Should be fun. Definitely won't have to listen to the parents anymore, and maybe it'll help me break out of my shell with strangers. Can't hurt anyways, right?

I'm still at the same job, been there for about 4 years now, but I'm now a "salesman" been doing that for 2 years now. I'd say I'm more inside sales, aka office bitch, really. It's cool, I make good money and don't truly have to do a whole lot!

Other than that stuff, not a whole helluva lot has changed here. I'm gonna head out here for a bit, but I'll try to check back more often, I know I've been MIA wayyyy too long!
» Mindless Blatherings
There once was man from Nantuckett-no, that's not right.

Here I sit broken hearted… nope, not that one either.

Hmm, what should I write about? I have no idea, so I'm going to just write and hope it sounds halfway entertaining. If not, who cares, nobody has to read this shit anyways, right? I can always press that little square key that says Delete on it if I decide this rambling isn't worth anybody's time. Then again, what is worth people's time? Who am I to judge what is or isn't worth people's time? Maybe what I find to be a waste of time someone else thinks is brilliant?

Interesting questions, aren't they? Reminds me of Jim Miller's old question about colors. I believe it goes something along the lines of "What if everybody sees colors differently, and, while everybody agrees the sky is blue, what is what you see is red is the color I see is blue?"

Sorry if I bastardized that question Jim…

In a week and a half I finally turn 25. Finally? Hmm, maybe that's not a good word to use. It does seem as if just yesterday I turned 21 and was legal to drink. And just last week I was getting kicked out of school for doing some stupid shit that I should have never bothered with. Hell, it was just a month ago that I met my dad for the first time.

Interesting how time flies, isn't it?

I turn 25 in ten days. Twenty five years I've been meandering my way around this place we call Earth. Er, well, technically I've only been wandering around Chicagoland, but still… you get the point.

What have I accomplished in these 25 years? Two training seminars for Kolbe Windows and Doors. I have the plaques for them hanging on my wall at work. A high school diploma, that I haven't looked at since the day I received it. A car that I don't drive because I'm afraid of putting miles on it. A job I don't like all that much, but that I'm planning on staying with because it pays well. A family that, something tells me, wouldn't miss me much more than a month if I suddenly disappeared one day.

Kind of depressing isn't it? I should probably think up some of the good stuff to add in there so I don't look like that emo kid everybody hates. You know which one I'm talking about. The one that sits in very public places writing whiney songs that only other emo kids like himself will like. The one who always wears long sleeves even in 90 degree weather so nobody will see the butterknife scratches on his arms that he's hiding so he doesn't get chucked in a loony bin.

And that brings me to music. I'm a music lover at heart, really. I can find the good in almost every type of music. Rap, rock, metal, pop, country… I like them all. I'm not a fan of the Blues though. I know, I know, I'm a Chicagoan and I don't like the Blues. There should be a movie about it. Hmmm…

The one type of music I hate is emo. Dashboard Confessional and the like. While I find nothing wrong at all with crying, I find it a bit odd for people to openly whine about it and make millions of dollars by doing so. It's like the emo fans are telling whiney bitches that it's cool to whine and cry about how tough life is.

Suck it up. We all deal with life, and it sucks for all of us. Don't whine to me, that's what a pillow is for.

Speaking of music, I was roadie for a day on Saturday. Kristen's dad's band was playing a show locally, and he asked me if I wanted to play roadie. He figured that I would enjoy it based on a 15 minute conversation almost a month ago about music. Interesting he could tell that much about me from that quick of a conversation, right? Especially since I was drunk at the time.

Then again, I don't recall one time during that 5 day period I was down in Tennessee that I WASN'T drunk. Not to say I don't remember much of what happened while I was down there. On the contrary. I can recall introducing everybody to "Naked Sean" the first night everybody was there. And Sarah's brother in law Alex (that one Mexican guy) going to Wal-Mart at 2 am to get stuff so he could make us all a kick ass meal of fajitas and beans and such. I also remember that hot peppers that have been grilled REALLY FUCKING BURN… more so than a regular pepper. Don't believe me? Try it sometime.

I remember Adam agreeing to be Sarah's husband forever by saying "Yeah, sure." And how everybody laughed their ass off at it. And also how everybody walked past me asking if I was the Secret Service, lol.

I remember dancing with Kristen's younger sister, although thankfully, she didn't have a purse to whack me in the gonads with like Heidi did.

OK, I'm going to end this mindless blathering now. I don't know if anybody will find this interesting, but please leave a comment and tell me what you think. Good or bad, I welcome it all.
» Come visit my space?
So I've been hearing these ramblings about something called a my space here on the intraweb. I finally decided to check it out after realizing most of my IRL friends were on there, and it was a nice way of communicating with some of them I don't talk to that much.

I now invite you, my 'net friends to join my IRL friends, and be my friend on myspace? Please? I'll give you a dollar or two? hehe

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=49301007

Add me, and I'll be sure to add you back quickly!
» WHO HOOOOO, I CAN SEE!!!!!!!!!
Apparently, it's recommended you go for an eye exam atleast once a year or something.

Today I went for the first time in well over 2 years. Got a new set of contacts that the chick there said I can wear at night as long as I use rewetting drops and whatnot...

It really is amazing how much clearer things are with a prescription that actually is the same as what my eyes need.
» I haven't forgotten...
I've often wondered... if I were to leave this world, who would miss me? Would anyone think back one day and wonder what ever happened to me? How long would it take before I was completely forgotten. Hell, how long would it be before everybody gave up on me and took me off their friends list.

It makes me very happy to see that I'm still on everybody's lists. I have been working a lot and haven't had a chance to even stop in and see how everybody's doing, let alone actually make a post about how I'm doing.

I've changed my website around a bit again. I decided a while back to add forums to my randomidiot.com again, and recently decided to make them the main focus of the site. Let me tell you, when you don't have a lot of experience, it makes it fun. I would ask you all to take a visit and leave some advice on what you'd like to see, if you were to join up if you could. If not, that's cool too, no biggie.

I hope everybody is doing well.

Shar, I don't seem to recall reading a post about you and your "virus" (Watch House, you'll understand) how long ago was this? Have I been gone that long? I hope you and your beau are doing well up there in Canadianland. Is that something like Candy Land? Cuz then I may not mind it so much, haha.

Brandonn... I don't remember playing any online games with you, but I don't recall what I did today either, so that's not to say we didn't. I hope Santa brings you what you're wishing for. That, or a shiny new matchbox car... either, or. I never see you online anymore bud, I'd like a chat someday. IM me, Randomidiotcom or email Sean@randomidiot.com would ya?

Phae. We haven't talked much at all in the past many moons. I hope you're still doing good and seeing the occasional bunny on the way to work. Say 'allo to Madam Moo for me please?

Brandywine... we talk all the time so you don't get much mention here. ;-)

Lily. Lily Lily Lily. I haven't talked much to you either in the past few months. I hope all is well and sunny.

Bec, you're awesome. I can't imagine going through the stuff you've gone through, and still having hope of even something so simple as a Merry Christmas. I wish I could take your suffering from you and make you a happy trouble free person. You really deserve it. Be well, friend.

Erica. We haven't talked much... well, ever. Hope all is well with you as well, thanks for still being my LJ bud.

Also, a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and sunshine and good times, etc to everybody. I can't say I'll stop back in anytime soon to give my normal useless updates, but I can say I'll try. Be well, take care and drink Pepsi... it's good for you, I swear!

#1: What is the significance of your LiveJournal username? For 2+ years my website has been randomidiot.com because that's all I really am here on the internet. Just some random idiot who has made some great friends.

#2: What's your all time favorite love/romance scene in a movie? This one may get my man-card revoked but Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in Ghost.

#5: What kind of pants are you wearing? Wal-Mart cargo pants. The ones with the zip off legs.

» Gone
OK guys, time once again for that drunken stupor inducing WineFest up in cheeseheadland.

I'll be gone for the weekend, but I figured I'd give an update of the last few weeks of my life.

I flew for the very first time a couple weeks ago. I had to go to Omaha, Nebraska for a business seminar (aka snorefest) so we hopped on a plane from Midway here in Chicago and flew out there. I thought I'd be scared shitless as I'm so terribly afraid of heights. I WAS TOTALLY FINE! I was looking out the window and enjoying every minute of it. Weird huh? On the way back, I was even laughing and totally not nervous at all about the fact that we hit a storm and had some turbulence. The girls I was with were freaking out and they've flown everywhere imaginable. I felt so cool, haha. So now I love flying and cannot wait to do it again sometime!

I brought back the Idiot Boards. With a new name and a new partner, we created Randomidiots "The Gathering". Check it out at http://www.randomidiot.com/phpBB the forums are a great way to meet some cool folks and have a great time. We're constantly trying to make upgrades and improvements, so join us and let us know what would make you more interested in sticking around with us.

» Holy Price Gouging Batman!!!
So we all know the Hurricane knocked out pretty much everything down south. But, the rest of the continental U.S. is now paying a HUGE amount more than we were. My question to you guys is this: should we be paying more for gas right now? The purpose behind this question is the fact that the oil that was held down south wouldnt have been to the rest of us for another 6 weeks. So basically, it seems to me that the gas companies are charging us MORE for gas they already paid for, and will continue to charge us more for an unknown amount of time. Definately a hell of a lot longer than they pay higher prices for oil.

Personally, I will be paying about 3.30 a gallon for my nice 87 octane gas. The Shell gas station by me was charging 2.85 a gallon for the first 2 days while the speedway jumped their price to 3.31. Needless to say, Shell was packed beyond belief.
» I lied
OK guys, I lied. I'm not moving out anymore. Apparently my friends brother wasn't ENTIRELY sure he was going to move out, and hte other day decided to move back in. He broke up with his girlfriend and is moving back in this weekend.

Oh well, now I can use my money for good stuff.

Like 2 new tires for my dad's truck that I did today (happy Fathers day and Birthday dad)

Like new tires for my car.

Like a blazer for winter.

Like WINEFEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you can see, I kind of thought this was going to happen, so I'm not too heartbroken about it. It WOULD have been nice to move out though. Oh well, another time maybe.

Same post on my website so those of you who visit both, don't bother this time.
» I'm leaving
It's time once again for a giant move. Not a move from one radio station to the next. Not a move from job to job. Not even a move from one pair of underware to the next... although I should really do that someday soon.

I'm 23, and it's about time I started my Adult life. Therefore, September 1, 2005 I move out of my parents house and into an apartment with a friend of mine. Though I realize it's not as big of a deal as some would make it, I'm still pretty proud. I'm 23, have a job that I'm fairly happy with, that should pay me enough to keep on track with my bills. I'm moving out on my own, and have pretty much lived on my own for awhile now. I know, I know I've been at home, but still. I pay rent. Not much, just 100 bucks a month, but it's still something. I only eat here once or twice a week if that, so I'm pretty self sufficient in regards to making sure I keep the body mass really high like it currently is. I buy my own soap and whatnot, wash my own clothes, etc. The only real change is that now I'll only be living with 1 other person instead of 5. Oh, and rent is going up a bit too.

We have a pretty good deal on the apartment though, it's a 2 bedroom in a nice neighborhood, lots of killer scenery around. Best of all, after a Satellite Dish, electric, internet, etc, all bills come to under 400 a month per person. That's less than one full paycheck for me, so as long as I get my bills caught up to date before I move in, I shouldn't have any problem at all staying on top of things.

I will probably take some pictures of my room now, and the one I'm moving into so you can get an idea of where I'll be. And, of course, I cannot live without the net, so I shall be around during this all.

Anywho, just figured I'd say hello and fill you guys in that I am alive, and doing pretty damn well for myself. Er, well, atleast I think so, and I'm the only one who really matters, or something right?

Just a quick post to say Congratulations to Scott Podsednik on becoming the final player on this years American League All-Star Game roster.

After an intense week of voting, and one helluva effort by the Chicago White Sox, it was announced that Scott was named the final entry to the game on the AL side.

Congratulations Scott!!!!!

By the way, yes I am alive.
